Windows Print Agent

The RFID Windows agent runs on a Windows PC or server. It will automatically check for print jobs added on RFID Asset, which enables you to print from the browser from any device without needing print drivers. Below are step-by-step instructions to install and use the Windows Agent.

Steps to Install the Agent

  • In the ‘Print Server URL’ box, paste https://app.tec-rfid.co.uk
  • Create a printer only API key from https://app.tec-rfid.co.uk/api_key and paste into ‘API Key’
  • Tick ‘Fetch and print new jobs automatically every’ and select from the drop-down how often to check for new print jobs
  • Click Save Changes and keep this window open and it will run while the program is running
  • Or click Register Service to install as a background service
  • The service will start when the computer restarts
  • If the service does not start, open Services, find ‘WindowPrintAgentService’, select it and start the service.

Using Direct Print from the Portal

  • Click on Settings, Direct Print
  • Click create new, input printer name and IP address, then click create
  • To print a label for one or more assets, navigate to the all assets page
  • Click the checkbox next to one or more assets
  • Click direct print, select desired printer name from the dropdown and click print
